The Skylight Installation Process
4. Next the roof must be prepared for the skylight frame.
This involves loosening and removing the shingles around the
whole that has just been cut.
5. Now the skylight must be attached to the roof. It must be sealed
all around the bottom of the frame and the top of the roof with a continuous
beed of sealent. Once the base frame has been placed it must be screwed down
in multiple places on all sides of the frames. This ensures that the skylight
is firmly afixed to the roof.
6. Next flashing must be installed and the roof reassembled. This is a very
important step because it is the main determinant in whether or not the skylight
will leak.
