The Skylight Installation Process
7. After the the skylight frame is in place on the roof it is time to begin framing
the skylight shaft. First the header on the top and bottom of the well are put into place.
This frames the basic shape for the skylight shaft.
8. Next the ceiling must be cut where the skylight will enter the room. The revealed
joists in the ceiling and roof must also be removed.
9. With the joists and ceiling cut out of the way it is now possible to finish framing
the skylight shaft.
